for the witch

I have to admit- I almost always hate rhyming poems. However, I really enjoyed this one. The rhythm is perfect, which is what makes the rhyming all right. I have just one small bone to pick with you, and I am not sure if you did this a) because it was the Zeitgeist at the time, or b) because it rhymed really well, or c) because you believe it, but you mention both "wiccan" and "devil's tax" in the poem... Wiccans don't believe in the devil. Also, I'm not sure if Wicca itself was invented then. Earlier forms of paganism, for sure, but probably not "wicca"...

I like poems like that, where there are constant rhyme within the stanzas.. I was a little put off by the comments about wicca and the devil, which have nothing to do with each other. Although they are both followers of nature. Otherwise it was lovely. I was a little confused by the last stanza. Is this poem a mini-story about how a witch was "misunderstood?"
