Mythological humor. I liked it a lot! And true - what happened to Medusa was totally caused by Poseidon. Her plight was undeserved - though some versions of the myth do say that Athena changed her to help her than punish her...
...though Zeus only knows what truly happened!
And LMAO at Athena's reaction to the ever amorous Zeus turning Arachne back into human!

I adore parodies, especially those that feature famous personalities. I used to think that Medusa is a yucky little villian, so thanks for changing my mindset. I think that the funniest bit is either Arachne's "nice legs" or Persephone's idea of a prank.

ooh, snake bites would be rather annoying, to be honest. I had never thought about FEEDING the snakes before! poor medusa. at least they aren't venomous- that's true.
and they can talk! haha, I giggled at this part. very nice.
oh, poor Hephaestus! he's one of my favorites, too. hahaha.
haha. poor persephone. is pomegranate all she has to eat?
["But I'm on sabbatical for the next month," Athena protested.]
hehe.
["Tough," said Zeus. "Rectify this disaster, or I'm turning Arachne back into a human and nominating her for first place in the Annual Athens Craft Competition."]
This was hilarious! I giggled way too loud, and my roommate is looking at me kind of weird now... um... oops?

oh, and poor persephone. this was a very nice read, so good work! I loved the sort of tongue in cheek tone about it, and yeah. Only thing I'd say is that the last few sections seem a tad abrupt, but it kind of seems to work. nice job!

I really liked that line. The story as a whole was quite amusing. Your mythology seemed accurate as far as I could tell. Nice job!

I like stories that take a different look at mythology, especially when it looks at things in a different, more practical way. So after your observations about feeding the snakes I was hooked. I liked the humor of it and your portrayal of the other gods bickering made me laugh. Thanks for a good read.

Hmm. Medusa had two monstrous sisters, though. She wasn't completely alone. That's the only thing I can suggest ^.^

I loved your take on Medusa. I always did wonder why she didn't try to turn Poseidon, at the very least, into stone. The only thing that's "off" mythology-wise is Persephone's attitude towards Hades. According to the myth, Persephone does not mind being married to Hades as he truly loves her (plus she gets to be Queen of the Underworld, a position equivalent to Hera's). The only thing she had an issue with was not being able to see her mother. Persephone's anti-Hades attitude does make this story -that- much more amusing, though. :D

I read your other story The Sylvian Outlaws, I have to say you have a nice sense of humor. You do not tend to take yourself seriously and I like that:)
As for this story, it is very cute. It is funny seeing all the gods in the universe being taken down by one piss off woman. If I was Medusa, I would mad as well. I mean it cannot be easy being the most ugly hag in the world and no man can literally look at you. I mean, what would you do in that situation?

Why did not the mythographers of yore expand on that story line? It has loads of literary potential. Hm. Yeah. Nice work .. brought a smile to my face.

This story really intrigued me, I love looking at different perspectives of things, especially of characters who are supposed to villains.
I like your interpreatations of the gods Zeus ‘chasing skirt’ really made me chuckle because, as legends go, that’s pretty much what the guy did all the time! And the idea of a god going on sabbatical seems very very cool.
Okay, it wasn’t terribly descriptive, and the scene changes read a little like a movie script more than anything, but it didn’t really need to be any more in depth to get to the punchlines, I thought it was really very amusing the way you made jokes about all the gods.
It was a very nice little one-shot, especially to someone who knows their mythology.
