Aww! That was so sweet, sad, and down right well thought through. I've never pictured anything like this before but I love the new horizon. The picture you painted was very down to earth and, like you said, definitely something that can be easily applied to real life. I especially loved teh last two lines. It summed it up very nicely. :)
And as though it wasn't obvious, I loved this poem! :)

I like how you extended the metaphor of the play...I like the ending. But some of your 'I's aren't capitalised...is that intentional or a typo?
Plus there is a typo on "peculiar."
