What makes clichés bad is how awfully written they usually are. You’re an excellent writer and I already adore this story. I'm certainly looking forward to next chapters.
Keep up the good work!

Wow! A new xanthie story *and* possibly a Rasta Guy update! What's next, Publisher's Clearing House at my door? :)
I really like this, especially, Saul's snarky personality. "A strategic elbow released me from Grabby Greg, who fell to the floor with a burbling laugh and groan, and I stepped over him and opened the fridge, scanning its contents. Oh shit yeah, there was a half-empty canister of chocolate icing and a seemingly forgotten bottle of Absolut in the far back." That sounds SO foul - I'm actually surprised he didn't vomit all over the grass in the park.
Since you said you're almost done with this, how many chapters are there going to be? I can't wait to find out more about Daniel in the, hopefully, upcoming chapter.
By the by, cliches are cliches for a reason (and that's totally a cliche too) uh because when done well they're awesome! And, of course, yours will be done well. :)

Pretty cool so far. The plot may be cliche , but it's far superior to some of the stuff posted on here dealing with a similar theme.
I always like your character's voices, and in this story they're all extra unique, which is good. Even if the plot is kind of cliche at least we got these awesome character's to read about!
