I loved it completely, although that ending was not enough, mostly just because I wanted more though. As much as I love a lot of stories, I don't fall in love with the characters quite as often, but here I did. I wasn't expecting to, but I think it was the struggles that they faced and the way that ended up that really makes them so endearing to me. You're a fantastic writer.

What a lovely, quirky, different and very interesting read(don't worry had to stop myself with the adjectives. I am surprised this has not received more reviews, especially love the way you had the characters interact, quite realistically and unforced. Also, the interracial part of this was handled quite well, not in an unbelievable way but quite natural and everything was presented in a good light not negatively at all, love the historical and linguistic references. I enjoyed this.

This was a really cute ending and a lovely read overall. I loved Levi's interaction with the children and the use of the song 'c'est toi' all the way through. It does seem like there's more of the story to tell - like how their relations with Laurent will pan out.

This is a very nice story, and I look forward to going back to the beginning and rereading. I like how it ends on a happy note, but doesn't solve all the problems in their lives. Feels very realistic and hopeful.

That was quite the misunderstanding. Did Innocente ever actually offer Levi this job before, say, when he was distracted or something? Or did Innocente just assume someone (such as Levi's sister) had told Levi about this job? Or did he just assume Levi would know how important he was and that such a job would exist and that he was up for the position?
The phone thing is understandable since there is a rival around, but I don't quite understand being angry because someone doesn't have ESP. It makes me think less of Innocente.

While I want to smack Levi a bit for being so stubborn about his job, it's completely realistic and understandable. And probably what any of us would do (aka, not sacrifice our careers for love). Plus his previous relationships.

o goodness. you've got me all tied up in knots over this story right now! i read it a while back when you only had up through chapter 8 or so, and i've been getting all these update notifications recently, thinking i'd wait til you had a couple more up and then go re-read the whole thing plus the new bits. so that's what i've done today and i'm so happy i finally did! i love this. the misunderstandings and assumptions and all the little obstacles that keep popping up...it's a lovely blend of angst and happier things. i know they're boys, but i really want them to both actually talk about things for once, because it seems like they never quite get their whole story out before one or the other does something based on some assumption or miscommunication and things get messed up again. definitely looking forward to the next chapter and seeing how levi and innocente deal with this latest debacle!
