I just knew Christian was a member of that jazz band. There isn't much I yet know about Jacob other than the fact that he's all wrong for your main character. Maybe I'll get to know more about why as the story progresses.
Now I'm off for more Stacy Lattisaw.

I rediscovered this story and am so glad I did! I like how you've given us a glimpse of Rayhah's parents' background and insight into what drives them to behave the way they do. You understand Angela's intensity where Raynah is concerned and can sympathize with her loneliness/unhappiness.
I think Jacob is well-written as an anti-hero; you just can't wait to see him get his feelings hurt, so kudos to a job well done! I'm trying to decide if I like this new twist with Gary and the mafia boys; I'll have to see what happens next. I don't like the fact that Jamal feels he needs to sacrifice his principles because of an imaginary threat to Sophie. I'm hoping that he can keep his integrity intact...
Cristian and Raynah have so much in common it's refreshing to see, although it's a bit unbelievable that they've managed to keep their relationship a secret for so long. And speaking of relationship, when will theirs progress beyond the current status of picnics, handholding and minor groping?
