I'm already a fan. I’m currently learning Korean and I appreciate the few Korean words that you put into your story. If you want the truth, your plot is cliché especially when you add the overbearing Asian mother. There are few plots in this world that are not cliché. The point is I love the story. I have huge expectation for this story and I look forward to the next chapter.
I did expect more of a negative reaction from the mother when she saw Serena. If the mother spent most of her life in South Korea, her exposure to Black would be the constant negative portrayal of Black Americans in many of movies that goes oversea. I’m curious about Mr. Ki character. Does Mr. Ki suppose to be more Traditional or Western? I’m also confused by the Ki family. How did the Ki family moved away from the traditional value of the family being first? You have to forgive me. I’ve been influences by the Korean families in my area. Beside the occasional Korean words, there is nothing to distinguish the Ki family from being White, Italian, or any other ethic group. I know the story is mostly following Serena, but I hope you keep some of my question in mind when you began show more of Ki family.
