I think that the memory of it should come back to Oliver. And then he'd be all, "WHY DID I DO THAT?" and then he'd realize that he's completely and totally in love with Felix. Just like Felix is for him. I feel so bad for Felix. I mean, all that hurt... It's just horrible. Way to pull me into the story, jeez. I love it! Update QUICKLY!

Even from the beginning, the fact that Felix was so calm got my curious... and what happened/was revealed in the rest of the chapter surprised me a lot. But it also gets me sad that they both sorta have a strain in their relationship.

Hm. Any chance you were going for A Separate Peace-esque feeling? I really got that vibe from this story, although your writing style is a little more modern than Knowles's aged, beautiful mastery of language.
Oliver is a very human character. In him I see a lot of Eugene, A Seperate Peace's main character. His vehement envy is the sort of imperfection that makes humans human.
I love the Star Wars references, by the way. Unique yet classic at the same time. Who doesn't love a Star Wars geek? xD
I liked the story so far. I want to see where the story will lead. My basic opinion of the story so far is : modern!A Separate Peace. Maybe your story will have a happier ending. Ooh, but I'm really anticipating the character development. =D

woah. wasnt expecting that! i mean that dude was on a roll with the hating ya know. he was breaking the friendship off. duh! and then you just sprung that on me in the last paragraphs. just, wow. what a surprise.

This is twisting me. It's like Oliver secretly hates his best friend Felix, but he know he shouldn't because technically, felix isn't doing anything wrong - but then I feel bad for Felix because he obviously doesn't know what's wrong too, why Oliver's suddenly ignoring him, and then I get a feeling that felix likes Oliver more than a friend, but then I feel sad again because how will that like, relationship go furthur if Oliver secretly hates him/feels inferior to him? And it's like I can't feel mad for Oliver ignoring felix because I'd feel the same way, it's a major blow to the self confidence you know?

I've just deleted the opening of my review about five times because I'm inadaquately able to convey how much I enjoyed the suprise of your last scene. Colour my expectations confounded.
What I mean to say is, and I'm still failing to do so, is that I like the best-friend-enstrangement storyline and I was toddling along enjoying the set up of character and situation when you came out and put something that I expected to be in the story somewhere where I completely DIDNT expect it to be in the story. If I made sense? Anyway, I really liked it. I think I can only enjoy what happens next.
And also, I like Oliver's frustration. It's well pitched. I can see how he would get worn down having such a talented (and good looking, yeah I heard you say it Oliver) friend.

Oh~ you know, something just came to me... could it be that this wasn't the first time? That would explain why Oliver's not oh-so-surprised.
Unless it's a norm for him to get wasted and wake up the next morning with someone at his side.
