Just In
for Je t'aime et je t'aimerai toujours

It should probably me "Mon Dieu, pardonnez-moi," because this is God we're talking about. Unless the character is purposely using the tu form in order to be irreverent towards God (which is perfectly reasonable, especially in the setting of a horrible war in which men can lose faith in all things), the vous form would be the best choice. I did rather like your story, although the random French was a bit of a turnoff. I understood it all, but it just seemed to be sporadically thrown in here and there. If you're going to use a foreign language like that, generally you use it sparingly, only where you think it's absolutely necessary. That's just my two cents.
