I love the bittersweet relationship you have between your characters, that just brings so much life to them. I'd be interested to read more of this, if you ever cared to continue. I think it would be really interesting to see life after all this. =]

excellent story, very entertaining read.
I really liked your timing when designating Nic as the speaker's brother. it seems like it was much more effective the way you did it.
also, I noticed towards the end, you accidentally used 'he' rather than 'I.'
