I think this is written beautifully. Like a poem-in-prose sort of thing. It really does feel like they're kids, because of how hard they try to keep it real and genuine and not let society get to them. Rather Peter Pan-esque, in my opinion.
I think it's perfect the length it is, and not really prologue-y. Though the ending did confuse me. I had to read the last part twice to understand it. For some reason I thought she was asking Jax for a retraction instead of her mother...?
I loved this line:
Glucose for short-term energy, Jax for long-term.

Why have I not read this yet? It was cute. And...different. I don't really know how to describe it. I liked the style it was in.
You always have the most interesting names for characters. Jax and Cadence? I mean, they're not bad, I like them. (: They're just unique. Which is cool, don't worry. Hah.
So yeah. I personally like the ending. And I also like dogs to be shorter than me. Because, well, if a dog were taller than me, then that'd be...REALLY SCARY.

anyway, no, i loved this. it has a very stream of conscious feel about it AND it's in the present tense, and i am such a sucker for both of those that it's probably ridiculous. like the present tense makes my life but i really can't explain why to anyone. it just does. idk.
anyway. this was just amazing. in a way i think jax is creepy and just not right for cadence, if that makes any sense? like with the whole stamp thing-he just seems very controlling and that's not very healthy. and cadence just goes along with it because she loves him so much, but i just feel like it's going to end badly, because of all the things she was mad at him for before, if that makes any sense.
so yeah. love this. and YOU. :)

I'm slightly confused...but I like it lol. When you said his name was suddenly on the back of her hand I was just like, wait! Is he a vampire or something? And then, no, it was just a stamp. See my confusion? But I think I'm confused because I just had some candy and I'm currently suffering from a short attention span.
And it does sounds like a prologue. It kinda leaves you hanging, wanting to know more.
Anyways, I like it so yay!
