This story was beautiful and I really don't want to say the same thing everyone else has but, yeah, I'm glad it didn't end happy. My favorite part would have to be when she read his journal.
I was more or less bawling as I read all of this. The impact you're able to have on your readers is absolutely amazing. You really should be a published author. (:

I honestly loved it! I thought the ending was good- sad, but good. Cause there wouldn't really have been any way to end it happy that would make sense. Oh... yeah, it was just really good.

That was one incredible story. I loathe Emily and Katherine, mainly Katherine since they made it out as she was delusional and Harlan was a monster. Beautiful story. Lol at your author notes trying to make us think the worse but since I loved Harlan from the beginning it didn't work. What are the song names of all the lyrics mentioned? Have you read Stolen by Lucy Christopher, its got the kidnapper thing going. At least he said bye in his own way and such a shame he never got to hear he wasn't a racist. It would have been lovely if she got pregnant and had a boy who looks like Harlan that way she'd always have a piece of him. I read a lesson in learning then checked your profile out for more brilliant pieces and instead of reviewing ALIL (as originally planned) the summary of this had me hooked and I just had to read it. Wow. I don't want to kill you. I am sorry i waited until the very last chapter to review but... wow.
I love the ending and i love the fact that his death was entirely her fault (evil, huh?). And i love how she just ponders over it for two seconds and then she doesn't get it. :D (i am sorry if i sound sadistic but it is very refreshing to read a tragedy - the only one which i have read since Romeo&Juliet. (the only one written since R&J i should imagine as all the books i have read end with a sloppy :D at the end))
I loved it...

Yeah, i'm crying right now, thanks to you! :( Ek, I thought you were going to give us a happy ending, but once i read the beginning of this chapter i kind of knew it would be.
The only thing i wish i could have done was punch Blondie's two friends in the ovaries. Seriously? They are stupid.

I really did like this story, and I kind of liked the ending; it was real, more real than most stories I've read on fictionpress. Definitely one of my favorites.

I like this chapter, it's definitely my favorite so far. And I really like Alicia and Harlan, Alicia seems so interesting and Harlan also seems interesting, but in a creepy 'What is up with this guy?' kind of way.

Wow! I can see why people would be so upset at the ending, but jeeze, it's crazy artistic in a way... I like how depressing it ends, if you know what I mean. Most stories end happily, but this is a nice change. Had it ended with them running off together, the story wouldn't have had the same ... umph. Very nice! Wow! (:
