Returning the review.
I loved it! I was a little confused as to what their relationship was - whether just close friends or lovers - and was surprised he was given only a week to live. Had he kept it from her for longer? Most people are given a few months, and if diagnosed that late have suffered major consequences of the cancer.
But yeah, the emotion was good. Awesome.

Omg its soo sad but I loved it because it was soo cute too. I was shocked he had cancer! Good job with the story!

I read this while I was sitting in class (before it started of course!) and almost cried. I'm not much of a crier, but this was very emotional. I was happy that they were reunited in the end, of course. This is beautifully written, very well done :)

This was so sad, yet so beautiful. A love like this is so rare. Most people grieve and are eventually able to move on. Marissa wasn't able to fall in love with any other man. I'm glad that she had a daughter to love. Her life was still wonderful in a different way. I like the way you tied everything together with the childhood memory. A very tragic but lovely story.

can't believe i read this before and then forgot to review.
anyways, this is so sad. the guy died pretty quick though. i wish they'd had more time together. but i suppose it's more tragic this way.
I like your writing. It's fluid and you created an image in my mind of the story.

When I initially read the summary, I did think "cancer" but half-way through this one-shot I got kinda excited and thought...is he a VAMPIRE? Or...or..a werewolf?
Before realizing, that vampires don't grow "up" and the MC explicity states she's known him since they were kids...
And I was like "Duh!"
And felt stupid for a while ;) I really REALLY liked this and think you should post more fics out there. I would happy to return as a...returning reader (?), just as long as you promise not to be this morbid in ALL your stories.
My tear ducts weren't jerked, but I did admire your writing ;) Well-done!

Wow. This story gave me the chills. Its very well written and draws the reader in. It probably didn't help that I'm listening to a song that correlates a little with the story.(Lesley Roy "Come Back") Well in my mind at least the song fits in :P
Loved your narrator and Cage. There was just enough character/relationship building without totally being overwhelming. In a short story especially that's very important and you pulled it off excellently.
