I appreciate how you used this situation to exemplify the fact that there is usually a story behind a person's actions, regardless if the actions deal within the realm of romance or outside of it - most of the time we only see the effects, but how many stop to think about the why's?
This was merely a snapshot but I really enjoyed reading it; 'twas funny and cute. Caprise and Alita's fun vibes were palpable and Owen was an /adorable/ character to read about. The scent of vanilla? Haha, very unexpected on a guy indeed but very him. I had a smile on my face the whole time I read through his and Marina's interaction. It makes me wonder though how Owen seemed to have fallen for her so easily as to dub her as 'the one' when they had only met that one time in Marina's restaurant? Especially since he was described as the type to not like girls so easily. Since it was brought up that there is a similarity between her and their mutual friend, Kaylehn, how is it that Owen likes Marina more in the romantic sense? That's something that probably would have made this story much longer if it was explored deeper but when I saw that comment, it just reminded me again to wonder why Owen is trying so hard to get Marina to like him besides the fact that he's just genuinely a nice guy.
I thought it a bit strange though that Marina didn't remember how Owen took her home - you did note how she drank quite a bit but not enough to not speak or listen coherently to Owen during their conversation. But that's just a minor nitpick. In the grand scheme of things, it's a pity that your real life inspiration did not turn out in a similar fashion but it's good to see that you were not jaded by the experience.

Owen is such a sweet guy, it's so endearing! I don't think I'd ever come across any man like him, but it's always nice to imagine them in stories and such (no offense to the opposite sex, you may correct me if I'm wrong). This was really really good! To be honest, at the start, I was debating with myself on whether or not I was still going to continue reading just because the bad date just made me cringe, but I'm really glad I didn't stop. This was wonderful! I am looking forward to reading your other stories. Much love! xx

I really did enjoy this one shot. I really liked all of the characters and how it was based on real events.

Hey there! This is Melissa from ADoR here to let you know that a review for "Marina Guerrero and the Terrible Horrible Date" is now up on the site. Congrats! Here's your review:
Melissa Thinks: Marina takes a chance and agrees to go out with a guy she waited on only to find out that he seems to either have the worst luck ever or he's the biggest asshole she's ever met because, as the title suggests, it's the worst date she's ever been on. And if that isn't enough to put her in a bad mood, as she's making her get-away, she crashes into his car.
I liked this one shot for it's slightly longer length, it's comedic tones, and the cute characters. When the story begins, Marina doesn't feel like Owen and her have any chance of connecting. In fact, I would go as far as to say she finds him annoying. As the story progresses and the two characters are forced to interact more, the chemistry grows and it becomes even more apparent that Marina and Owen are meant to give it another go.
"Marina Guerrero and the Terrible, Horrible Date" was different, but at the same time pretty realistic as far as dialogue and plot. This one shot is a charming version of the "date gone bad" cliche.

I adore the way you have your characters make appearances in stories other than their own! :) I'm guessing the small Riley from here is the same one in the spin-the-bottle game from the other one shot, and Kaylehn is obviously from Glances. Favorited!

Awesome story! I absolutely love Owen. I want to have an Owen bobblehead so that I can pet it each day.
