Overall, this chapter was very good. However, the section about dessert and the weekend is not written to its potential. It seems a little rushed and vague. It might be a good idea to go into more depth about their time having dessert. Also, instead of saying she didn't do anything all weekend, just focus on what she did on Sunday. The reader will understand that she did not do anything else worth talking about.

Usually in this case, the person in question is just unable to deal with the situation in a constructive way and in the end lead to self-destruction.
It's sad that she couldn't make herself go get help and no one else was able to get help for her.
