I'm not sure how I found this story, but I'm so that I did. It's fantastic! I tore through the whole thing in less than a day. Called in sick to work because I couldn't stop reading. You are an amazingly talented writer. So - while I realize that you mentioned quite a few chapters ago that you got married - and therefore probably have one or more rugrats to be responsible for, not to mention a husband, and probably a job, or multiple jobs, plus the lovely global pandemic, on top of all the triggers in the story that may or may not trigger memories of your own past experiences that you'd rather forget - all of this notwithstanding, I would gratefully send you a thousand dollars to be able to read the rest of this story. It's that good! I don't lie. But...even if you never write another word, or spend another minute of your life thinking about Hollywood Townsend, the boy who is lucky enough to have 3 different amazing people in love with him, yet dumb enough not to realize how any of the 3 really feel - even if I never get to find out whether Hollywood runs off into the sunset and lives happily ever after with Gary, or with Brock (or what the hell, he could choose Leslie!) - I still want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this captivating book, and for sharing it with the world. The hours that I spent reading this today, have brought me great joy. I hope you will continue to write - if not this, then something (anything!) else - because talent like yours is rare and important. Use it!

Oh gosh I'm so happy! One of my favorite ever stories with perfect pacing and plot and characters. When Holly's mom made the pregnant joke and leslie had a negative reaction i got this problem fear that leslie was pregnant and only got with holly bc the baby daddy left her and she needed someone to replace him skdkfjdmdmmd idk. Im so interested in what's up with her! Also god i miss gary . THAT LINE WHERE BROCK WAS LIKE "consider bad boys don't give a fuck" HOO BOY I SWOONED. I hope holly straightens his feelings for gary and brock and leslie out soon before anyone gets hurt. I mean brock n gary are already hurt but yea. What's the deal with the soccer coach and mckenna? I love lenovo. Also we need to start a petition to let holly have sex his balls are permanently blue. I love my plain somewhat short darling so much. Freddy is also an interesting new character and I wonder what he meant by the line abt leslie not liking to call him brother? Hm. Love this story, love you author, take your time!

Just reread this;) It's such great story. I love your writings style, it's so funny and absurd yet realistic. I know you've been working on it forever but I hope you still have plans to continue. These people are so easy to care for, and I want to know what happens to them:).

Wow, I remember reading this years and years ago when it had maybe half as many chapters - I was quite delighted to see it was still as good as I remembered! I love Holly's narration and humour and can definitely see how so many people would be attracted to him. At the same time he can be petulant and oblivious, though with enough self-awareness that it doesn't get frustrating. That said, it IS frustrating not to know what all the secrecy is about! It made more sense when I read you'd changed your original plot idea, though I'm glad that's what you decided on. I don't think I would have handled Gary and Leslie behind Holly's back either, poor thing. Personally I felt Gary's P.O.V. perhaps didn't suit the style of the rest of the story and it threw me off a bit - I might be boring, but I would have been very interested to actually be in his head for a full chapter without it being poetic! On the whole I think the pacing and characterisation is excellent, and being bi myself I definitely favour a bi protagonist. Though I just want it all to end happily! Poor Holly's not having a great time of it lately, is he? (Though I'm leaning toward Holly/Garry probably more than the rest... juuuust sayin'.) Overall, enjoying it so much, really looking forward to your next update!

Why did Brock think Gary was a slut? What the fuck is the secret between Gary, Brock and Leslie? And ch 12 is so confusing, does Gary love Leslie or Holly more? And what's the reason behind him wanting them to break up. So many questions it's infuriating, but I absolutely love this story, characters and your writing. I can't really speculate shit at all because I have no idea what's going on. That laundry kiss scene was so fucking hot though.

So, I had a weird dream that was kind of themed on this story. A bunch of people were sitting around a lunch table, I think some of them were characters from different stories, but Hollywood was there, and he was the main person. Another guy had invited his boyfriend over to the table for the first time, and they were just about to start making out when Gary came over and started screaming about Hollywood because he thought Hollywood had invited this other guy to the table and they were together or something. Then Hollywood got upset because he had no idea what was happening, and he was about to stand up and start yelling back at Gary, but then I woke up and the dream was super clear and I was like, what the holy fuck was that? It was very random and very vivid and I have no idea why my brain chose this story for it.

Gary is acting kind of bizarre. It would be very easy for him to be with Hollywood if he wanted to be, all he would have to do is address that they kissed and that they both like one another. I don't know why he doesn't just ask Hollywood out at this point because it's clear that Hollywood likes him. This story is really good but I just don't understand Gary's behavior because there's literally no reason plotwise that is preventing him from being with Hollywood. He's getting angry and jealous over things that are irrelevant because he could have easily stayed the night when Brock was there, considering he was invited by Holly and Brock wasn't. I'm guessing Leslie has an eating disorder which is why she has a therapist, but I'm really confused. Is Gary not asking Holly out because of Leslie? like he doesn't want to hurt Leslie by dating Holly but also doesn't want Holly dating Leslie because he likes Holly? I know you are trying to keep things suspenseful, but I feel like Gary's reluctance to be with Holly is strange and out of character, like there's nothing really stopping them besides Gary being all over the place.

waaait...I thought this story was complete... I'm getting nervous and a little clammy-palmed and kind of nauseous... You've been working on this for a while, and now I realize I might be abandoned with no hope for any updates! I've got one more chapter to go, and I am very invested in this wonderful story, so if the next chapter is not the last, I will provide some motivation! PLEASE continue, and in a timely manner! Your writing is so fluid and so pretty. I love the way you can so off-handedly turn a simple phrase into something quirky and off-beat. I love these characters. I'm deeply into this little world, so please write more, and soon! (if it's not finished, anyway). Obrigado!

Huh, the previous comment didn’t show my screen name. I just can’t stop thinking about this story. Holly’s such a great character. He’s like a reactive little windup toy. Whenever anything happens (even something he liked! ), he goes charging off in the other direction like a screaming chicken. Maybe it’s b/c things happened to him that he had no control over (his dad leaving, his mom never being around so he has to be the parent of his siblings), so now he’s the opposite of passive? Poor boy. I kind of want to shake him & say slow down & think! HE has choices, he has agency. I guess he’s not used to that (:. He’s so dizzy with it all, lol. See, I’ve spent 2 days analyzing a fictional character!
And as for slow burns, well, there are pros and cons. I’ve read some awesome stories that basically began with really hot sex. And some where there was a great build but the sex didn’t happen till the very end, and it was kinda anticlimactic. Prob b/c by that point, all the tension had gone out of the story. All that was left was the happy ending (heh). I think the hottest sex scenes RAISE the stakes. They move the story forward.
I’m not saying your peeps should suddenly roll around with everyone in town. It sounds like both Hollywood & Gary want something special (cough*each other*cough). Wait then why did Brock call Gary a slut aghh?! I actually like Brock too haha, I just don’t feel I know him as well as the others.
But anyway, sometimes tv shows stretch slow burns out past all sense, just for the tease. It stops feeling true to character. You’ve built your characters & their relationships very well. If they tell you they want to get down NOW, go with it ;). See where it takes the story. A slow burn can be about the getting together on the whole, not just having sex. In real life, sex often makes things even more confusing.
Ah well, they seem to know what they want to do. After all, your characters have strong enough voices they’ve started to live in MY head ;).

I absolutely adore this world! This story has such a distinct, offbeat narrative voice. Narrative voice is such an underrated way of indicating character (underused online, anyway). You do SUCH a great job. Hollywood’s consciousness is always filtering through various levels of denial and drama-queenness, and then self-awareness and perceptiveness. It tells us so much about him.
I really like that all three romantic choices have something going for them.
I love that things are way more complicated than “which person will Holly choose?” Because him going “that one!” wouldn’t solve anything right now. He’s put poor Leslie on kind of a pedestal, when clearly she has some issues; I look forward to him finding out her life hasn’t been so perfect. And we really know so little about Brock so far. Why does he feel responsible for his parents’ divorce? Hollywood is very drawn to Brock but could he even give him a fair shake right now, with everything up in the air with Gary? Does he even realize how many of his choices and reactions revolve around Garebear? . . . . . . .can’ . . . ’ .idiot.
That whole sequence where Hollywood confronts “jellyman” Gary was masterful and hilarious . “How long have you loved her?” “ Oh you’ve got to be kidding me”. HA!
This has to be one of my favourite slash interactions ever. They have such a funny way of interacting. I just adore them. But I’m trusting where you’re going with this.
I love how consciously Hollywood represses the truth about their not-so-platonic relationship (I get the feeling ppl have been assuming it for years). It’s like it’s so big he can’t look straight at it yet. And I love love love that the main issue between them isn’t really about other people, it’s about keeping things from each other. Hollywood’s so hurt and angry (:.
I’m so fascinated at what’ll come next. Gary’s feelings are out in the open now, but their issues aren’t resolved at ALL. Is Gary going to be even more aggressive than Brock now?
I’m curious,at what point did you realize Gary wasn’t sticking to his planned role of ‘friend sneaking around with Leslie”. Was it actually at the point of Holly finding Leslie at his house? Or was it as you wrote their early interactions? Was Gary secretly in love with Hollywood all along, and suffered through it b/c he thought he was straight?
And the big question, which I gather will be revealed soon. WHAT IS THE SECRET BETWEEN HOLLYWOOD’S LOVE INTERESTS?
