for The First Wife's Promise

The repetition of "I promise" gives it a powerful rhythm and you can feel how it builds from Catherine's innocent faith in the promise to a desperate clinging to it as she tries to salvage anything from the ruins of her marriage. I think Catherine of Aragorn would have liked it.

How fitting was that the "Are you human?" question thing asked me to spell poetic because I typed my password wrong. Heh.

But yeah, I really liked this! It was very powerful. I loved the "I promise" bits and though they made the whole thing stronger and really touching. The last lines were really moving. I also thought it was a really well told story here. It was clear what was going on but still poetic without turning into a story? D'you what I mean? Like it didn't turn into a bit of prose, it was a well structured poem that really held impact. In general, I love it! Well done and good luck with the competition. I think you'll do awesome. *Hugs*

Steph this is brilliant! the imagery is wonderful and the use of historical context moulds well into the structure of the poem. A very good poetic representation of Catherine of Aragon!
