I've never read a story with this premise before. The fact that the concept is so unique makes me intrigued about where you'll take it. Your profile says you're a poet, and it certainly shows in your prose. It's rich and beautiful and fun to read. All in all, an excellent story. I look forward to reading more chapters, and particularly to finding out the origins of Locke's spectral companion.
