I liked your writing style but I hated your characters. Reeds an asswhole and Lany is pathetic always taking him back. We saw no hints of this supposed friendship except for them bitching back and forth which was funny but not when your trying to make us believe they have feelings for each other. The bar scene had me wanting to kick Reed in the nuts. Repeatedly. It wasn't just the making each jealouse. It was how they deliberately hurt each other with words and actions that made me seriously doubt the ending.
Maybe if it was longer with a bit more backstory and delving into the characters minds it wouldn't have been bad. But despite your writing the characters came off shallow and 2 dimensional.
