Sad, but beautiful. I love how you built this. How the speaker keeps coming back to the question. It's often so hard to speak our hearts and the anger and frustration and sadness is so palpable. Last stanza set has to be my favourite. Also striking is the very last line. The speaker doesn't quiet themselves, doesn't stop talking, no, ceases completely. It might simply mean cease from trying, but I love the idea that a part of the speaker may have ceased as well.
