Oh gosh how did the fire start? Is everyone safe? I'm liking the pace at which Nate and Jon's interactions are progressing, it's slow and delicate, it's realistic. Can't wait until the next chapter!

Why did Nate think she was a bitch? She didn't even do anything to him!

How did Chris die? Trying so hard to put the clues together. And is it her subconscious or is she actually hallucinating?

I love this story! It's going at a perfect pace for the subject matter and you have captured everything beautifully. I’ve noticed that the memories of Chris were becoming less and less as the story wore on and I think this is wonderful because it shows she is healing but obviously never forgetting. I’m looking forward to your next update.

I have never read anything like this in my life. And that's okay. Because this story is unique, the kind of plot that is alone in it's own way and can't be recreated. It's the kind of plot where, you just can't guess what will happen next like so many other plots. It keeps you guessing, but everytime you're surprised because you never thought that would happen, even if it's the perfect timing or way for it to happen.

Pretty much what I'm trying to say is, I've never read anything like 'Chroma'. This story is one-of-a-kind and I can say I am 99.9% sure I will not read anything like this again. And I can guess by now you know I like how it's going and am eager for an update. I know it was last updated in April, but that's okay. I haven't updated a story in a year, so why should I complain? So you update when you can, when you want, when you don't. I'll wait. :)

And I'll say sorry in advance for having no critique, it's probably just because I'm not a writer like you, but I can't see any mistakes in the story except for minor swearing mishaps.

Hello, I started reading this story through Ador, at first I thought it would be a typical story of two people falling in love. I was so surprised through out the chapter to find myself deeply involved with the story, to the point that many times I was at the verge of tears. I know you said you prefer critics rather than support, but I had to first congratulate you with this unique story. Because it has a different essence to it, sometimes I feel as if Im standing there in the description of the story. I must say that at first I got a little lost with the places you were paiting because I felt that even though it seemed not so important to describe places for me I felt like it was missing, I would have loved to hear more about the living room and the house of Kon before going to California, however later on you started describing more, such as Nate's house and I felt a relief that I could clearly picture everything. Now, I felt that Jess and Carol's reactions to this new teen seemed quite unrealistic, I mean come on! Even I would have thrown a fit at seeing a new teen coming into my house and someone as peculiar as Kon even so. But then you twisted the plot and I was happy and grateful again for the realistic reaction Carol had. I also found that Jess's reaction to Kon made her a lovely character and a pure soul person, making it al so real. After that, I would like to mention that this idea of watching people is one of the things that makes this story so remarkable. It is an excellent and original idea to have someone as Kon and Nate to have this gift to see through everyones barriers. I'm sometimes frustrated that Kon won't rely on Nate and viceversa, but the waiting makes it more believable and creates anticipation. I also wanted to say that I found myself doubting of the love Im almost sure you want Nate and Kon to have, I don't know if it is on purpose but it confuses me that there's just a little reference to that. Well, after writing almost an essay rather than a review I will like to hear more from this great story and hope as any other reader that you'll update soon so I can stop suffering from anticipating nerves of what going to happen.
Thank you for sharing this masterpiece, as well as for reading this long review

:( The end of this chapter was pure evil.

Anyway. I've been reading this all in one go, so my review is more general than focused specifically on this chapter, if you don't mind.

I'd just like to say that Chroma has quickly become one of, if not my favourite story on FP.

I like the protagonist - Konstantine is really a delight to read about, and she's surprising in so many ways. She's witty, and kind, and she doesn't want to feel a certain way sometimes, but does anyway, and feels guilty for it. It makes her so much more human.

I feel like the characters are written very well. They're well-balanced, each with their own set of personality and faults. Jessica is the most likable character. When she immediately accepted Konstantine, I knew I liked her. Characterisation is obviously your strong suit.

If I had a piece of criticism for you, it would be 'show, don't tell.' The nature of the main characters, Konstantine and Nate, means that it's easy for you to fall into this trap. For example, it would have been nice to see Leslie being strong, and comfortable with herself but insecure when around others, instead of just being told this by Konstantine during one of her people watching moments. It's really a lot harder to write convincingly, but a writer using one of their characters as a mouthpiece for an information dump that was suddenly deemed relevant just smacks of lazy writing.

That being said - I think your prose is beautiful, especially when Konstantine is alone and she's just reflecting. I love getting inside her head, knowing what she's thinking.

Hey, if it isn't too much to ask, could you write a playlist for the story? The songs are really good, and I'd like to listen to all of them. You don't have to do it if you're busy, it's just a request. :)

I've just finished reading the whole story in one sitting. I really love it, but since you wanted us to be as picky as possible, here it goes:
I don't really understand the whole "Nate is unreadable" concept. I get that she cannot read him, she says that a lot, but how? Usually she looks at him trying to learn something but his face gives nothing away. How? If you wrote sometimes what she sees in him an why that doesn't says nothing about him I would understand it better. Does he always have a poker face on? Does he have a pseudo-Nate character that he is always playing?
Since a lot of secrets are still not revealed, I'm kind of afraid that there will be too many traumas in both of their lives. They already have pasts traumatic enough, adding more stuff can turn the story from dramatic to absurd in the "the girl watch his boyfriend dying slowly of cancer than was kidnapped and raped by her own father and than discovered that the meat served to her was actually her brother and all this after her best friend killed herself because she rejected her" kind of way. Right now you are very far from it, but I've seen great stories ending up that way. Their behavior and pain are already justified and the reader already sympathize with them both, so adding more big tragedies in their past is unnecessary. But the story is awesome enough that even if that happened it would still be one of my all times favorites on fictionpress (and I've read almost everything in ADoR).
(I care so much about your characters that I almost regret reading before it is completed, because now I'll spend hours worrying about them.)
Right now I actually hope that their relationship stays platonic, a close friendship would help them heal, it seems that romantic love would bring co-dependence and neither of them needs it. I don't know if you intended for the reader want them to get together and that is actually a complement to your writing because it means it is unpredictable, a rare thing in this genre.
That's it for now, thanks a lot for writing and sharing your work.
