I re-read the story from the beginning (like I don't have a huge load of homework waiting for me haha) and now this new chapter too and seriously, this is one of my favourite stories on FP, if not the very favourite. Also, I really hope to have this story on my bookshelf one day.

So Chase blames her? Does anyone know the truth? What a mess... and she has to see Chris die AND knew that he was responsible for Chelsea's death.

Wow... did not see that one coming.
I always wait for an update from your story. It's one of the few I've kept up with since I left FictionPress. I about spazzed when I read I would have all the last five coming within the week. Your story has definitely been worth the wait.
I love Kon and Nate, as I'm sure everyone does. I haven't met many characters like them, and they've definitely made for an interesting ride. Thanks for updating; I look forward to a notification to my email for the next chapter. (:

I forgot to tell you in the last review how much I'm enjoying the flashbacks. They fit in seamlessly with what's going on in the rest of the story. What a horrible mother she had! No wonder Chris was everything to her. He was the only person to comfort her and show her any kindness. I'm so glad she has more people that care about her now. The fight scene at the party showed us more of Nate's personality. He's mature and powerfully persuasive. Konstantine shows the same traits in dealing with Bryce. Most people would have just swore at him and yelled.

This is my favorite chapter so far. There is so much going on here, from Konstantine bonding with Jessica to the increasingly intense connection with Nate. I like how she's becoming part of the popular crowd, but she's not dazzled by it. They're presented as real people instead of stereotypes of snobby rich kids. The relationship between Max and Keaton is adorable and fun, and so true to life. I also like how Konstantine didn't stop noticing other people just because Nate intrigues her. The little details about the teacher were great.
We found out that Nate is a writer, and that he is beloved by all his female friends. He has proven himself to be a caring and sensitive person. Yet, there is something darker there. His reaction to her looking at his scar hints at some kind of abuse. The end of the chapter was also amazing with the drama and the cliffhanger.
I liked the way you wrote Nate in French class. It was consistent with his personality, and it continued to show his fascination with Konstantine. As for Beaver, I don't know why he has that nickname, but it's not the first time in my life that I've been clueless.

Oh boy! She's actually hallucinating him. I thought the part about the eyes watching her in the cafeteria was kind of creepy, but now I know that was her seeing Chris. So it's only been two and a half months since he died. This complicates things even more. It's a good thing Nate is such a strong presence, because Chris is an interesting character too. He wrote her a song. It's hard to compete with that.
Jessica is such a wonderful person. Not many girls would be so accepting of a new stepsister appearing out of the blue. Wow, her parents sure love her. Pizza and ice cream. I want to move in with them! Then it was so cute with all the beverages. I like the hopeful ending of this chapter. It makes the reader believe that her heart can heal.

Wow! Every chapter gets more interesting. And so does Nate! It's so hard to write a guy as hot and intriguing, but you have succeeded. The more I know about him, the more I want to know. The same goes for Konstantine. So, there is a tragic love story in her past. It's the guy from the flashback in the first chapter. That is certainly an obstacle to a romance with Nate, but she has really captured his attention already. And I noticed that she didn't try to pull away when he touched her. True, something unexpected was happening, but he was still holding onto her in the hallway.
Now I also have to tell you how impressed I am with the way you've written the secondary characters. It's difficult enough to make the main characters interesting and memorable, but you are making the rest of them individuals too. I especially like Max. It's nice how tight knit and supportive they are of each other.

I'm still laughing over the ending. Konstantine has more going for her as a character than the mystery of her tragic childhood. Of course, growing up the way she did would make her tough. I wouldn't have thought about adding the ability to read people. That was clever. Her wicked sense of humor is truly original for such a character. I never imagined a tough character being funny. That's some great layering for your character!
I also love the way you introduced Nate. He is an enigma to your main character and to your readers. It's genius how you gave her someone who's hard to read to interest her, because she's so used to relying on her ability to quickly read people. Your characters are very interesting so far.

It was the flashback at the beginning that made me decide to follow this story. It gave just enough information to intrigue me about the whole story behind it. Now that I've read the rest of the chapter, I'm even more interested to find out more about Konstantine. What an unusual name! I see you got it from a song, but your character seems just as unusual as her name.

Aahhhhh! So happy that you updated and that I can read a new chapter of Chroma EVERY DAY for the next four days *o*
Also, drunk Nate is adorableee and I love the relationship between him and Kon.
I think I've mentioned it before, but I reallly really like your writing. It's just really good to read and not at all overdone or awkward.
Can't wait for the next one :))

Something about reading this and taking in the broken characters (not really broken, but they're hurting yenno?), piecing all the information you gave us, and predicting - I love you. Gosh. You've written my ideal book. It's just, so mind catching. I really hope you write more. I'll be waiting. No pressure tho ahah.

As a guess: when Chris died, he was with Chelsea. Is that right? Does that explain Chase's hatred of both Chris and Kon? Or is there more that I'm still not seeing?

I understand Nate's concerns, but Carol is the adult... she needs to grow up and start acting like it. I have worked with kids for years now. It always kills me how often it is the adults in the family who need to grow up... and yet everyone expects the kids to be the ones to reform.

So that was what happened. How many times have people ruined their lives by trying to take the fast route to make money? And of course, because Chris explained his decision as being "for you," Kon blames herself for his death.
