When I read the summary, I didn't know what to expect. Then I started reading and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! Like Jess said in the beginning, her life is almost like The OC. I love the show . . . but at the same time, it isn't anything like the show. At the beginning, I didn't know Kon will fit into Jess's life. I like that she was still able to adapt, even despite her different upbringings. I like that she was able to bring herself to this new group of friends and new family. In a way, she left her old life behind once she no longer had any one holding her back. Every time I would read about her memories or conversations with Chris, I felt so sad. You can tell she really loved him and he really loved her. I am honestly glad she has Nate. Nate is really something. I can't believe just how similar the two characters are. Nate represents how anybody can be going through bad experiences, even despite being wealthy. It really saddens me to just how terrible life can be like. Life for everyone is hard. This story was amazing. I didn't see it as cliche. There were so many emotions going through this story and I really felt it. I have really enjoyed this so far! I do hope you update . . . I look forward to what will come. Thank you for writing this beautiful beautiful story. :)

Oh this story is pretty good. I love how there's always flashbacks with Chris in some chapter. But in my opinion, she needs to start getting over him, as harsh as that sounds, even though she was in love and all it's not safe. Anyway, love your story!

I love your story so much!
Only started reading it yesterday, had to take a break when it got to 4am and resumed this evening, finishing now at 4:30am. I regret nothing.
Your writing style is lovely, it sort of reminds me of The Perks of Being a Wallflower somehow. Think it's the coming of age feel of it and all the pretty metaphors.
I've also been extremely enjoying all the pop-punk references because it makes me want to go through all my old music from when I was 15/16 that I haven't listened to in a few years because I got into harder stuff. The fact that I still only have to read some Jack's Mannequin lyrics and it makes me want to cry was a fun thing to rediscover...
So anyway, I'm thanking you for my lack of sleep and the revitalisation of my love for pop-punk :)
Please do update soon, I don't think my heart can take 6 months between updates or however long your author's notes have been suggesting it's been recently.

Holy crap. It's an update... :o

Well, I'm certainly glad about that. Chroma's an excellent story; I'm rather surprised that it hasn't gotten more reviews by now. It deserves it.

Hm. Nate's back to ignoring Konstantine. Oddly enough, it seems like Nate's the one who holds all the strings in their rather confusing relationship. Kon never seems to do anything but watch Nate and talk, but Nate's the one who ignores and frustrates.

You never really explained how Chris died. Was it the same way that he died in Kon's imagination, at 11:11, or was that something that Konstantine just made up?

I haven't got much to say on this chapter, actually. Just that Konstantine and Nate have a relationship that's complicated as hell—if it happened to me, I'd just bitch slap Nate and tell him to get over himself—and that I'm pretty sure Jessica and Jon are going to have a blooming relationship.

The guitar burned...it's so sad (*tear*). I do feel sorry for Kon, even though I'm a bit puzzled as to what happened to Chris. And in earlier chapters, you mentioned Chase and his sister, Chelsea. Is that all going to tie in to Chris's death, or are they separate incidents?

Anyway, glad you updated. I was wondering when the next chapter would come by, and then it's suddenly there at the top of my "Alerts" list. Yeah (*cheers*)

Hi! I found your tumblr and followed you to fictionpress. I read some of your OS which I liked, so I decided to read the bigger work. I was not disappointed! I'm really starting to get into the story and I really like the characters. I'm definitely going to keep reading! Since you're story kept me entertained for quite a bit now, I thought that I would give you a fairly lengthy review.

Since you want some constructive criticism, I'll give you both what I liked and what I disliked. I think I'll start with the dislike, to keep the good stuff for the end!

First, I thought that Carol's character is a bit rough. At first, she seems very sweet and a good mother, and suddenly, she takes on the evil stepmother role. If you ever rewrite the first few chapters, I think that you would have to get the tension to build up more slowly between Carol and Konstantine.
Second, Konstantine is able to understand people just by watching them, and that's awesome. I wish that you would show us more HOW she does that. I mean, I know that its in the body language, but what's her process? Show us what she sees or senses. You've probably heard of show don't tell (if you haven't, then... *shakes head* that would be impossible). One scene where I thought you did a great job was when Konstantine was at the bookstore getting some milkshake with Nate.
Third and last, this might just be because it's a fictionpress work, but sometimes I feel like the rhythm is a bit random. You'll have really intense chapters followed by really relaxed ones. I can't really put my finger on what it is exactly... hmm maybe I'll have to think about that one a bit more.

Now the GOOD STUFF! :D
Specifically, I LOVED the scene in this chapter when Nate and Kon walk to the beach. You used a lot of sensory imagery, from smelling, to touching, seeing... Anyways, at one point, I actually felt like I was becoming Kon, and Nate was walking next to me. Yes, it was that amazing.
Overall, the interaction between your characters are really good and believable, which is really hard to do I think. I like how you don't forget about the minor characters too.
I would say the reason that I really like it so far is that it's really easy to get attached to Kon and Nate. I really like the turn that their relationship has taken, and I'm curious to see how it's going to develop. BUT I also like your story because it has more than just the usual romantic stuff. It's kind of a reflection on human nature at times, and on various relationships. And it's done beautifully. Personally, that's my favorite kind of reading. So I'm definitely going to keep reading!

Alright, I know that now is the time where I should just go, but I have one question... How old is Konstantine when she tells this story? Most of the time, it feels like it's told as it is happening, but then we have some lines such as "it wasn't until years later that..." so I'm slightly confused. Or maybe you meant it to be confusing and mysterious...

So that's it! I know, you probably thought I would never stop!

That's mott cool its a total cliffhanger you cant just stop writing this story with all the loose ends. Don't be one of the writers that just give up. I want to know all of their secrets especially what happened to Chris and why the police are their. Is this because of the Leslie Max and keat problem I need to know. Update soon. Please. :)
