Okay, this was a well written chapter. Fey, Minnie's own bad ass family, and more along for the ride made this a pleasure to read over. It's good to see Minnie's skills come from some other badasses. This series is always a pleasure to read.

This chapter was fucking awesome. Two eras, a kickass maid like the one in Black Lagoon, teaming up with Minnie to fight an evil cult. Minnie's going to have fun with her new toy, it seems like.

Wolves, mad pseudo shamans and more make for fun adventures. I think Minnie may have some fun adventures if she and the kids ever do go on a safari or trip to a foreign country, if this is the sort of thing they can expect.

These are all good, with forgotten words, wonderful ones like milksop and impeccable and bauble. And funny little scenes that solve a problem, like having Minerva use the names of the Egyptian gods in her supplication and amusing responses she gets, like from Runk-Tep Ka. hahaha. Perhaps it might be unrealistic for her to be the ultimate defensive governess, with not only a myriad of weapons and fighting styles reminiscent of Psylocke from X-Men, but also fluency in whatever dialect Mock Dock speaks, but I'm well willing to suspend my disbelief for the mental image you've conjured of a perfectly coiffed and starched unflappable English governess. somewhat reminiscent of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, but not tacky or terribly cliche. Although perhaps a bit overdone or dragged out on some portions, like the Circus or Capitalist Spirit. With the last, it was understandable that it required more development, but on the whole, I liked it. And it was nice the you didn't necessarily give us an ending that saw Timotheus get together with Minerva. Although the name Timotheus, I still have issues with. Clementine I can accept. Cornelius, fine. Edith too. but it's really an unfortunate name.

I have to say, I really liked this chapter. Minnie's rampage was awesome to behold. I liked her taking on some non-supernatural nasties for once. The bizarre killers were very awesome, as does the potential recurring baddie. Still, unsure about a few things: Like why does Minnie suit up with a katana and yumi bow instead of her already formidible arsenal? Could the crossbow not do the job of the longbow, even given the skill it was used with before? Why change from dual daggers (or even her short spear) to katana? It was awesome, but it's already established that Minnie's gear is pretty awesome.

I liked the Egyptian schtick this chapter had. A snake pit, dog-headed zombies, cultists, Pinkertons, and a giant soul-eating demon all make for a pretty kickass adventure.

It was also good to see Minnie have a little more difficulty triumphing over her enemies this time, as well as helping out someone other than the Runtle children. Good work. ;)

This chapter was very cool. I did like the change of pace. Helping Runtle Sr. definitely a welcome change of pace to essentially playing glorified baby-sitter to the Runtle kids for most of the other stories.

The Egyptian stuff was indeed cool.

Well, a little corny, perhaps, but not a bad way to slip in some tolerance and awareness about puberty. Plus, the Scissorman, while a bit silly, at least had an interesting gimmick/description, though he may have popped up a bit too soon (then again, this looks like a "short" more than a full story).

It is interesting to see that Minnie is still in contact with her parents; up until now, I wasn't quite sure. I also like the last line for some reason; it seems very fitting of the genre/narrative style.

Like always, great descriptions, in this case of the classic staples of the circus, both used in familiar and nightmarish ways. There was a lot of stuff I enjoyed here, too; the fortune teller, the ghostglass, the Ring Master, the Harlequin, the freaks, and the references to things like child sacrifice and the Hekoya sacred clown, the Commedia dell’arte and the Grand Guignol.

I liked the various obstacles Minnie and the others were faced with and think you used the gifts Minnie was given quite well, save the last one with the animals and the bone, which was a bit lackluster. But all in all, this is one of the best chapters of The Governess.

While it’s a good way to get the plot rolling, could you trying mixing things up a little more other than just having the kids get kidnapped/lost over and over? By now you’ve made mention of enough characters that any one of them could get caught up in supernatural hijinks and need Minnie to save/help them. Not to mention Minnie’s own past might have some skeletons (from what I’ve read about the next chapter, this might get brought up, but I haven’t read it yet).

Okay, I like how the villain of this one ties in with Minnie's past. It is also a nice change (hopefully) to see potential changes or drama with him "growing up." I hope you can make even the young kids have distinct personalities from the Purity Sues of earlier stories. You've given us great reason to care for Minnie and some of the other adults, so looking forward to future chapters!

Some good ass-kicking in this chapter. The tall men were appropriately creepy (the Granter a little less so) and I liked the mention of the Necronomicon. I am indeed curious as to what the Granter was, or at least if it was based off anything or completely original.

Hm! I liked it. Minerva is like a bad-ass, monster-killing Mary Poppins. I liked her variety of weapons, and Mr. Knock was a pretty creepy spook. Tragic backstory, too. I'll read more for sure.

There was a sluggishness to this at times that, along with the (usually tolerable) length, made it tough to read all at once, so I didn't. There may be one or a few things that could be taken out with no loss of quality, but I can't offer up any specifics.

I like that you managed to incorporate classic vampire motifs as well as throw in some lesser-known, unconventional types in here. While the Sword of Apollo was cool and vaguely important/useful, I kind of saw it as unnecessary. Perhaps you're setting something up with it?

Anyway, kudos for some old school bloodsucker villainy.

Well, the same sort of typos/awkward word-swapping aside, this was an even better chapter. The idea was really neat, as were the descriptions. The parts about the Untrodden Glen in particular were very rich and poetic-sounding. And it seems in addition to that mythic goat-man version, you’ve also got a bit of Barrie’s Peter in your Pan… and it works wonderfully, actually. Also, nice touch with a Clockwork Hydra symbolizing death.
