Aw, now I feel all nostalgic. Cool piece; great idea. Something as simple as learning to ride a bike can encapsulate all of a boy's hopes and dreams, and you did an excellent job of showing that. I like the fact that he doesn't care about his scraps and bruises, his rusting bike, or his dirty shoes. He's determined to do one thing alone-and that is to ride. My favorite lines were near the end, when he finally "gets it."
"And suddenly, I realize there was nothing to learn, no concept to grasp. All I had to do was look up. All I had to do was see."
That really feels like the secret behind it all.
