This story was hands down the best thing I've read on this site. I don't read stories on here often, but when I do, I do so in *mass quantities*. Now [2:28 a.m.], I can go to bed knowing that I've actually read something that wasn't predictable, boring or both. I've been wanting to read something well written, actually dramatic / tense and something in the horror category that was *actually horror* and not just bad writers attempting to scare me with cliches and tons of factual inaccuracies.
Plus, your main character reminds me a lot of myself. Aside from the love-ypain-y bits, which is great, because this story gave me the inspiration I needed to continue writing a story I've been attempting on and off [mostly off] for a few months now! Thanks. :D

I thought this story flowed really well, the way that you introduced the character as a PTSD-ridden husk, and then explained how she'd got that way. It didn't feel forced or stagnant at all, which was no mean feat.
As for the subject matter, it was brilliant; I don't happen to be (that) into pain/bondage, but I do write it a little, and your descriptions differ from others that I've read in that they detailed the pain/pleasure element as one thing, rather than pain causing pleasure. Punctuation and grammar was good, and I loved the phonetic spelling after Stephen breaks her nose; it really put me in the moment.
I really enjoyed reading this, it was graphic and terrifying, but you handled the subject matter amazingly well for someone who's supposedly not into S&M, and I identified with the idea of battling Voices/muses between two people who are powerfully drawn to each other. A superb story.

I've just had a thought (over a year after reading this)that this is almost like a reverse Misery; instead of the crazy fan torturing/keeping the author captive, the crazy author is torturing/keeping the fan captive. Appropriate, considering who the author is based off of. :D Anyway, this is still one of my favorite stories on the site!

I've never read this, but you're right it is much better than your other stuff. And on the flip side of that you have a very creepy mind, and its a little disturbing I now understand the anonymity otherwise you'd have been questioned by the police by now, correction my father says that you'd have been convicted but that's the cop in him or maybe its the closeness of the cop in me that knows all law enforcement procedure.
Regardless I'm far to busy to finish reading this now, It seems more like a stormy midnight read anyhow

Sounds like the Joker and the making of another Joker.
Two crazies trying to outdo each other and eventually dragging other people into
the mess.
VERY INTERESTING.

What a truly twisted and amazing story! Your consistent characterization is a brilliant talent that is hard to find these days, and your ability to tackle horrifying, almost-but-not-quite unbelievable scenarios is a wonder to read.
I know I have a writer's Voice. I swear to god that I couldn't write anything without her stepping in and showing me the way. It was a streak of pure brilliance to capture this element so rarely seen as far as writers are concerned. After all, the only difference between genius and insanity is success.
Thank you so much for sharing this with the world! Keep writing!

Yes, yes, yes, and, oh yeah, YES! I'm loving this story! You know what's really sad? I think I can relate to your main character. I should probably avoid meeting any famous people in the future.
Your character's Voice is very amazing. It/she has a psychic streak, which is something I always like to read about.
I love your psychological introspections of your character. I think that's what draws a reader in - the ability to not just hear a character's thoughts, but to know what makes them tick. That kind of power and emotional intimacy is what hooks someone and keeps them hooked.
Corinna's mind games are amazing. As creepy as this sounds, I always thought that would be the best way to go if you were murdered - torture them back. Use your mind to inflict damage and prove that they could never break you.
The author you modeled this after is Stephen King, isn't it? If it's not, who is it? I'm curious to know.
Well, keep up the good work. I'm gonna subscribe and eagerly await the next chapter!

This chapter was GREAT! I love that you made a point that the author's not built like a cheesy romance novel leading man, and the sex scene definitely kept me on edge; he's definitely getting scary, and that ending...God, I cringed! I can't wait to see what else he has in store.

I love this! I'm assuming the author's based off Stephen King? S.K., writer from Maine, etc. I'm really curious to see where you take this, and you're very good at leaving the reader wanting more!
