this IS a good one shot. Ari started crushing on Dean then avoids since the start of this story when they are alone or when she starts thinking about the crush. Albeit rash, but it makes sense for her to avoid him when she starts feeling embarrassed. But blurting out the L-word the moment she gets agitated and loses all self control? She is a happy go lucky person but I do understand that people react differently with specific people and subjects. And Dean too. Boys, I feel, think that saying the L-word is like getting cooties. And only when they are fully assured of their feelings coupled with great courage will they say it to the person romantically involved when they learn to embrace what they feel. Catchy title, nice summary, good story. Wows for you! ;)
