Used to play MS too.
I think the only reason why I stuck to the game for so long was because I didn't wanna start playing/get addicted to new games.
The only thing I find fun is chilling with my friends. MapleSEA is currently being overrun by really nasty people. (Don't know what's up with those younger players.)
Left the game in Dec last year for studies and video makin' (The videos are still Maple related...)
Not much 'reviewing' here. Just a comment. Too used to my Youtube ways. Thanks for writing this!

I used to play maple story half a year ago (never reached level 30). Sounds like it's still the same from your rant.
Constant grinding: sounds just about standard. Gamers who do grind admit freely to saying that they don't want to 'think' too much. That's why they grind. That's why the companies ENCOURAGE grinding.
Young players? MS is renowned for it. I did my best in non-interaction with other players and still ran into a mass of 9-13 yr old's. Hacking? Every game has a bunch of hackers. MS, being there as long as it has been, accumulates more.
Nixon using mini skirts and other kinky pixel clothing for characters? This is universal MMORPG standard nowadays. In every MMORPG I've ever downloaded and played, the only one that was reasonably well away from kinkiness was Luna Online. And in the end, it proved to be a grinding fest once past level 40. Nevertheless, I stuck at it for a few months before Windows XP crashed on me. After that, no more.
So, to conclude as a fellow post-MMORPG-lover, I agree with this post. Oh so much. And I love you for posting this.
