Umm I hate to point out another thing but the Dread Pirate Robins sounds an awful lot like the Dread Pirate Roberts, from Princess Bride. And I thought slavers wanted to keep their cargo generally okay so that they sell for more?

In Arturus's will he says illegitimate bastard and bastard means illegitimate child so it's repetitive, but I'm guessing you used the words on purpose to emphasize Arturus's scorn/disliking for Annalyn? If not than you might want to change that lol. Just thought I'd point that out.
I like your story by the way! It's really good. I feel like it's about to pick up too =)

okay. i think ive figured it out.
and im only writing it here as proof later if i end up being right. though its still doubtful that i am.
so...
I THINK Roger found out about the last "Pirate Queen"'s location and wanting the title for himself and all the benefits from getting that title, he killed her.
then, knowing what she looked like, and seeing Emelia's similiar appearance, he figures out the connection, which is why he is taking her along to find the Mermaids tear, especially since Amelia had apparently figured out the puzzle that needs to be figured out to get the Mermaids tear, and Emelia can probably figure it out too.
Am I right? Probably not. I think it's a good guess.
Dont tell me though.
