interesting story first very cute then very exciting. I enjoyed the story quite well. I like the transition from smooth to rough. a very suttle but yet good transition. An interesting and traumatizing day especially for the boy. I wonder why the shot was fired. Good story over all!

This is a really sweet piece. :) The only critique I have- in the first paragraph, you use "see" three times in close succession. I don't know if you meant it to be purposeful, but it kind of just felt repetitive.
Other than that, it was beautiful.

"The constellation of pink stars on his left forearm," - I know what you're going for, but it just sounds to me like he's got pink stars tattooed on his arm.
Otherwise, both these little snapshots are awesome! I love that they're just moments in time. Both made me want to read more, yet they are complete in themselves.
Good work.
