I'm really sorry about all the hate you got over that plaigarism scandal. You didn't deserve it at all. The other author acted extremely immaturely and handled it terribly. She never should've put it out publicly if she had an issue with you, and she damn sure shouldn't have acted like such a passive aggressive idiot. I hope this didn't discourage you too much. I know it's old news but w/e I just stumbled upon it.

to all those people complaining about plagiarism:
Get Real!
1.) You are posting your stories, that you don't make money from, on the fucking Internet for free ... what do you expect to happen?
2.) The rarest thing on this planet is an original idea. You write something you are bound to copy from someone, if you want to or not. Its what you make out of that framework that you copy that counts and that can be very different. Stop complaining about it and be proud of the fact that someone else thought your idea was good enough to make a descend starting point. Most of you will have written fanfiction at one point - how do you think the authors of the original stories felt when you took their readily developed characters and give them new plots?
3.) If you want to actually publish your stuff and make money with it - for the 'verses sake: do not post it on the Internet! - That only works in the rarest cases e.g.: 50 shades of Grey and even here you can make a very strong case that it was plagiarizing Twilight. Plus 50 shades in my opinion is nothing more than a badly written, cheap romance novel without the gaudy cove which makes it possible to read it in public without being embarrassed - hence the popularity.
Just food for thought...

I mustache you a question...
(actually I read your profile, and this is the only pun about mustaches that I could think of)
...will you please keep on with your story?
I don't know if it has anything to do with the hullabaloo about mardy bum, but I really think she was overreacting. I've been on this here site a while and have seen plenty of pieces which have borne a striking resemblance to each other-much more so than yours has with mardy bum. I think that many of the authors have just been on high alert for the past few years due to all of the incidents with plagiarism. Not that it matters, but you definitely have my support. I find that some of the reviews left to you by others were extremely rude and, well...bitchy.
Then again, if this hiatus is due to school I totally understand.
Anyway, this is beautifully written and I love it. I look forward to all of your future works!

I love this story and I love Maddie, she is a great heroine. The problem with a lot of werewolf stories is that I think the main character (the girl) is too quick to give in and fall in love, but not Maddie, that took a long time, and then she even got some space to move back! Please update soon :D

I read some of the reviews and I see a lot of people are talking about you stealing the beginning of Stranger. Is that why you haven't updated recently? I read the story Stranger, granted it was years ago, and your story did remind me of it but that story was more dark and angsty I thought. Maybe if you changed the beginning people would stop complaining about how you stole it. Maybe keep the fact that Cain went to jail for her but change some other stuff. I sure there are many other stories where the guy went to jail for his lover. I do hope you continue both your stories and that you didn't intentionally copy bits from Stranger.

This sounds almost exactly like Stranger by Mardy Bum. Are you seriously going to plagiarize for shallow attention? And even pretend that it's completely original and your own? You sicken me. Take this down immediately.

You don't have to copy and paste another author's work to steal their ideas. Even if your notion of plagiarism is as narrow as that, anyone else can see that you have stolen the original idea of another author here on FictionPress. In doing so, your work is not only unoriginal, it's all a lie. I'm sure you thought nobody would notice, that perhaps you could slide by without a glitch in the system. But then your story started to get popular, people liked where it was going, and then more readers flocked to the story. Pretty soon, you surpassed 200 reviews, and how great that felt, success at last! But on what pretense? You stole someone else's work, that is not your success and this story is a lie to your readers. Not only because this is not your work, but because when they praise it as your work, they do so blindly. Imagine how infuriated your readers and reviewers will be to find out you've been lying to them, that you've defaced the work of another writer.
Like in journalism, there is an unspoken code of ethics in writing, and it goes without saying one of the rules good writers follow is not stealing from fellow writers. In this, you are no longer a writer, just a plagiarizer. If you'd like to write, then take down the plagiarized work. Originality begets success, plagiarism begets lies and loathing. Learn from other writers, but do not copy them. That is all that the readers ask, and do not let the review count of your story fool you. The success of a story lies in the author's measure of it, not the readers response (especially when the vast majority of reviews consist of mindless ego stroking). Are you happy as a plagiarizer?

Hi,
I could've sworn I'd reviewed this story before but there doesn't seem to be any record of it. Anyway, what I wanted to say is that this story is blatantly plagiarised from Mardy Bum's 'Stranger' and you need to change the beginning. The whole premise is basically the same and it's disgusting that your readers actually think you came up with this, when you really stole the ideas off Mardy Bum. It's not okay and it's still plagiarism, so I've reported you. Hopefully, this will be taken down.

Hmmmm this seems awfully similar to Stranger by Mardy Bum. A little too similar. The only real difference I see is that you included werewolves. But when you set out to write this story, with the first few chapters, it seems as if you had Stranger in mind, yes? Passive agressive plagiarism is not cool.

I could not stop hitting the next button because I was either pissed or sad or happy or confused, but now I'm just like FINALLY. Seriously. Yayyy! Onwards.

I'm liking the survival skills and I would be shitting my pants too if I came across a wolf especially since I'm not so fond with large dogs either.

I finally have a feel for Cain and Maddy! Even though it's a psychotic connection, I do feel the chemistry and I love the little flash back!

You have a very nice plot going on and it seems like this is going to be a good story. The only thing that I felt could have improved was the telling of her past. It felt a little rushed to me and I couldn't grasp her or Cain's characters really well yet. I would have preferred the beginning to be a telling of the night of the murder or something from their past so I could really picture and understand their relationship, but over all I enjoyed this.
