It's been years but after rereading Broken Wings, I'd thought I'd give Moonlight a go. Honestly, Izeri's story is so compelling, I actually prefer it to BW!
He's such a complex character and his relationship with Charias is so interesting. I'm so impressed with just how distinct the two POVs are. Jak truly is an open book, Izeri can read him plainly. Broken Wings doesn't show off Izeri's complexity because Jak simply doesn't know or understand. But Izeri's POV is intricate, the amount of complexity there is with every interaction he has with Jak really shows great storytelling. The fact that he's a fae and a were add so much extra context to your world building (e.g. faeries, mages etc) where I might not have understood. I can also understand the dynamic between Izeri and Charias a lot more now. Izeri seems to be bi demi-sexual (regardless of his insecurities about his glamour) and I can relate so well to his bemusement towards the mages. This was such a different take to the sexually charged BW (which I did enjoy too).
Then all of the school related side-plots are wild but really well balanced with the main romance. I can't believe all of this was going on in the background of BW, so I'm so glad you wrote Moonlight! Even incomplete, it's a treasure.

I love how this universe is essentially a cross of sci-fi and fantasy with such a unique spin on individual races. I hope you get back to this story, this is my favorite ship from Broken Wings.

Wow, this chapter is just amazing. I'm so glad I'm rereading this story. The characters have really good depth and are very distinct. I don't tell many people this, but I have a dissociative disorder. It sometimes messes with my memory. It can be Very frustrating. I first read this at a time when I was having a hard time with it, and I lost most of this story. There's enough where what I'm reading is weirdly familiar, but generally it's like reading it for the first time. And I'm enjoying it very much. It's makes me happy to be reading it again.
