Well this is my review. Good attempt for a one shot. Romance is a subject that is often thought of for happy endings. However that is not so all the time. This is one case. Two sides, opposing ones, loving each other. But in the end they have to take each others life. They don't want to, but they have no choice. In the end their duties are more important. Sad but true in some cases.
Sorry to get all flowery, but I was in the mood.

Middle of the night inspiration is the best- which I can clearly tell from this story.
I just fell in love with your style.
It was beautiful and chilling throughout the whole story, and the beginning really captured me and made me NEED to read the rest.
I love how you gradually revealed the circumstances, and the way they both died at the end, same exact way.
So dramatic, it was perfect! I guess the minds of lovers really are in sync, hm?
One small thing I was thinking about though, is that the beginning and the end seem a bit... contradictory.
At first, it makes it sound like Amelia's just having a random premonition; perhaps a vision of her death, but with no evidence to back it up.
Then, by the end, it's revealed that she's actually known for a long time that Adrian would kill her, and why.
It could just be my interpretation, though; I can easily see if I'm just over-thinking.

Mm... perhaps a little over dramatic, in your language and tone, but still, very good, very interesting. Your idea is original and you write it fairly well. All in all, very good. ^_^
