Very unsettling indeed. I pitied Victoria's mom one second, and felt annoyed the next, then back to pity. Her fear is completely understandable, although I'm not sure if she is all that stable either. She doesn't really seem to understand while living on the run isn't a life for a child, neither is watching her mom take regular beatings from her boyfriend.
I really can't find it in me to feel sorry for Steve (I wonder what that saids about me?).
