Trying hard not to cry. I was just thinking about sending you a message the other day. I've often wondered how you've been doing lately. Also, thank you for having a conclusion. I've always admired you as a writer and really appreciate that you didn't necessarily give up on the piece or your readers, just moved on, and it's nice to have closure for the story.
Also, I loved Jane's story conclusion. Secretly my favorite type of historical romance, the "I agree to let you do your thing but imma love you on the low-low" type.

I would have loved to see this all play out the way you had planned, but I completely understand your reasoning behind not doing so. And this all sounds so much better than any conclusions I would have drawn up own my own. I like the Jane got her own story and happy ending as well. You did a good job writing characters that I cared about and felt invested in. So thanks, I really appreciate this wrap up!

I don't know if you will ever get around to finishing the story, I can certainly hope that you will one day pick it back up. Even if you don't, I can say with certainty that this is one of my favorite stories that I have read on this site. The characters, Darla and Jane especially, hold a special place in my heart. Darla, I think, is a character who initially is hard to like, at times coming across as vain and selfish...but she grew on me as I begun to understand her more. Her friendship with Jane helped with that. It pained me to read what Darla was going through and how wrongfully she was treated by Stanton, and how even in the aftermath of his death things continued to go down for her. How her addiction further contributed to that and how she continued to be haunted by visions of Stanton. The things she'd imagine him saying to her really tore me up inside. I've enjoyed her bound with her sister Jane so much and how much they truly care for one another. How Jane expressed that through not letting go and continuing to support Darla despite being treated poorly by her. She never gave up on friendship with Jewel has also been a delight and how they will able to connect with eachother through their stories despite coming from very different backgrounds. And then there's Mr. Briston...I want him to sweep her right off her feet already. :) I love that he's taking time to do things the right way, it shows his level of respect for her as a person and a companion.
All I can hope for is that you will one day choose to pick up this story, I will continue to cherish the part that you have written thus far regardless.

I've enjoyed what I've read of this story immensely. I do hope for it to one day be completed. I realized it hasn't been updated it a long time, but I would just love a resolution to it all. Because I am sure any headcannon I would come up with would be vastly inadequate to what you would actually write. I want happiness for both Jane and Darla.

Well I must start out by saying that this has been a wonderful read. I think your writing style is fabulous, and you have a knack for creating very real characters. I have enjoyed every chapter of this story. I also have to say how sad I am to realize that this story may never be finished! I was half way through when I realized it wasn't complete, and hadn't been updated in a VERY long time. I could only hope that it was done, but you had never marked it as complete. Alas, that wasn't the case. I do hope that you may find the time and inspiration to finish it one day soon. I know I'll be waiting with crossed fingers!

I've been reading this story every spare moment for the past day and a half. I forgot I was on fp. This reads like a novel. :). Can't wait for the next installment.

I spent all of my free time these past couple days reading all 36 chapters and wow. I really hope you can update soon. Your writing has grown so much from chap 1! Not even that the beginning chapters are bad. You're just even that much more fantastic now. It would be nice to visit whether Darla still sees Stanton now that she's sober. Personally, I thought they were drug induced hallucinations but I guess we'll see haha.
I'm a huge fan, can't wait for more.
