I'm not in a relationship either, but I did have a temporary fling with someone I accidentally got attached to. Never again, I think over and over to myself. Trust me, the pain of love isn't worth it until it's the right time.

What a brilliant expression of such a foolish concept. It's all right for an old wreck like me to withdraw into solitude and contemplation for my final years. But it's almost criminal for someone as young as you are to refuse to make the most of God's most precious gift-life. Relationships are meant to break our hearts. That's how we learn to put them back together and get back in the game. If you are afraid of living for yourself, stop being so self-centered and see what you can do for others. That might be the best treatment for what's troubling you.
