I love everything about this, the flow and narrative is very good, it sucked me in and kept my breath-taken attention from the first sentence. I really like the story, and all of the questions it is raising in my head, and I would very much love to read more of this. As for the angsty tone, it is perfect.
As a final note, I most often do not like reading in first person POV, but you write it so well that I enjoy it muchly. :)
