Beautiful prose that flows well.
And a wonderful display of emotional grasp.
I loved Taisuke's inner turmoil as he tried to pull the trigger. Fantastic!

Since you seem to appreciate feedback, I'll give you some. This story is really intriguing and frankly, I feel that its better than Wand. So please, don't neglect this story, it has so much potential.

A small wording problem here, not that it's wrong or anything but I think it could have a smoother transition
"that had come forward" - that came forward.
Everything looks good. I love your descriptions, but the only thing I can ask is for a description of Taisuke.
