I don't know how much of your personal experience went into this, but one can feel a sense of reality when reading. Or maybe I just relate to it. :) I can't say this is good, or that I like it. Can one like such a heart-wrenching piece? It's moving, I'll leave it at that.
I hope writing helps get you past this awful event in your life, even if it's just scribbles on a memo pad. Even if you don't post what you've written. Hopefully you find that things do get better with time. As you said, life is not for wasting, pining over those that truly don't matter in the end.
Straight up romance isn't really my cuppa, but I have followed your stories for a while now and I think you have a knack for stories. I'd hate to see you leave it. I encourage you to keep writing. Who said it has to be romance?
