:) Excellent - and poignant work. I can see what it means to me; not sure it's the same thing to you. I could say that the fire, the evil, the words (that I hear) is 'the Beast' in us; the canvas the child, the boy; and yes - strangers treated us far better than we ourselves at times. And father the protector (for he was) - could also be cruel, a very sadistic SOB . . . (sigh). Nice poem. I think I'm gonna "favorite" it. Thanks!
