haha I have to agree with Cal- that's the worst battle (if it can be called that) that I've ever witnessed. It was rather reminiscent of those old-fashioned first blood duels. I get that they don't want people to die, but it's rather ludicrous to fight like that...

YES! AN UPDATE! Made my day...I really like this fic and I can't what to read more! What? You mean to tell me you have more marvelous words hidden in your sleeves? Eagerly waiting for Friday! I like the world you've created, and the Dzali are quite interesting. You've got me really curious though...what exactly is a focus, and what's our friend here going to do? I'm just as confused and intrigued as Cale to find out what's going on. XD

Outstanding chapter! It really seems like Calentine is softening a bit towards his general. I did catch the bit of text when he thought of him as such. :))
"I've got it covered," I tell him with a smile, and go to my General.
I like that you had the general lose, since it nicely set up Calen's sympathetic tendencies. I hope you post more of this soon.

Sorry to ruin your dreams of having a not popular story, but you've got me hooked too! It's really nice to find a good well-written story that's not cliche and overdone. And am I GLAD to see that you've updated recently and plan to do it regularly! I think I would've had a minor epilepsy fit if you weren't planning to. Not to sound like every other whiny reader, but I really just can't help it...hope you update soon! XD Will check back next week!

Wow, this is great! What a unique story... I'm really interested in the role of the focus, what it means that a human is one and what powers the general will get.
I love that the general blushes and is all gooey and sappy and loves the sailor! Grrr about people treating him like a dog! Do not like the redhead... Looking fwd to the next update!

I really like the voice of this story and the concept. I like that Calentine hasn't fallen instantly in love with him even though the General is so caught up.
I find it interesting the way some of the Dzali are treating him like a pet but then there's Jara who seems almost human. The General is so besotted, I love how in the beginning he kept blushing though I am curious as to what his magic will be if it does show up.

This story really is riveting. I think you're doing a great job with your characterizations, and I like that Calentine is struggling to find something in common with his new soulmate. It makes everything more *real*. LOL Bravo! Post more real soon.

This is really excellent! I love your characterization of Calentine-he's turning out to be a really awesome character and very different to boot. I hope he gets to go back to the sea!
The plot is good too and your writing has absolutely perfect flow of which we mere mortals can only dream. I've laughed aloud a couple of times now, so it's safe to say that this is pretty darn funny to boot.
I can't wait to see where you go with this and hope you continue to write a whole lot. Thank you for writing this!
