Yet I spent 4 hours yesterday designing what is want to my house to look like. My mom said I needed to have a giant air filter...I guess I'm nkt living down having a flock of pet birds anytime soon.
And maybe that's true but sometimes it's easy to forget that. Good poem.

I don't really get the last line. At first I thought that the italics weren't part of the sentence, but that doesn't make it make more sense. How does it connect?
Great poem, though. It's simple, but it says a lot. I love the emphasis that comes with the short lines, and the italics give some variation because, in my mind, I read them like a whisper.
