The darkness, the stagnance caused by this guy with a "tinge of grease" in his voice, the comparison to winding a jack in the box, it all leads me to conclude that damn ma'am, you really know how to build an atmosphere. All the little details point to something downright PREDATORY in this place and in these people. Fragile devil guy is incredibly unsettling! "Shh, just watch, it'll get better" No no no, it will get so much worse!
The humor in Arthur's section is a welcome distraction from dear Bob and his newest piercing. 5chan. The frustration of being pocket dialed. The monolithic laptop and the more practical laptop right next to it. Arthur, r u me? Exploring of the ramifications of new technologies was interesting too.
D: I'm not sure if I want Arthur to take her in or not. I want them both to be safe, and I'm not sure if that's possible with him working for the baddies and her being all flame-y.

Kagami! Welcome back! :D I'm glad you're sharing your wonderful writing again. This prologue feels like the start of a movie, and a pretty scary one at that. I just felt this growing dread and then horror as the girl went about her business. What kind of people turned a little girl into this? Where's she going to go next? Who can she turn to? Poor, poor murderous pyrokinetic young lady.
