Oh she doesn't kill, which makes sense even if they can do magic. This is also the first time we see any flat out offensive type of magic. A lot of it up to this point was mostly traps and other things. I also suppose most magical beings would be interested in nature considering the earth is probably what helps with their magic.

I think it is weird that she thinks that she is just going to be doing Laundry or some other things while she's there. I mean he probably wouldn't have came out if they were just going to be doing some basic maid stuff.
I suspect it's going to be a problem only a Witch would be able to solve.

Hmm interesting situation, Tanner gives me mix feelings, on one hand he doesn't seem to have much ill intent towards the witches or the family. It's not like it's a lifetime contract it seems either. Just something she would have to fulfill.
I'd blame Mathew more than anything, this also confirms a large slew of other supernatural beings in the story and world.

So it was what they expected, a debt. I guess other creatures like Werewolves are pretty rare which makes sense. I do wonder what the protection spells do, are they like traps or triggers that only activate when certain conditions are met?
They seem less like the toss fire balls and more like lay traps and have the enemy walk into them or set them off.
I also wonder what the debt is.

Hmm, we get a slight bit more insight on her parents. This seemed more like a set up chapter and showing how what happened to Matthew effected the other members of the family. Since the mystery is still a mystery I don't have too much to say about the images she saw.

Hmm, I like the idea of visions and how the are displayed differently depending on the medium used. (Fire, Water, Stones, ect) kind of reminds me of the caries screens we use for media. Now we know that what was following her was most likely another witch or another creature.
I am interested if you introduce the concept of vampires or other monsters into the story considering what she said.
Just a side note, becareful about introducing a lot of characters at once, Charlotte and her sons seem interesting, but I don't know if they will have enough time to develop

Hm, setting up some fun mysteries and an interesting world in this first chapter. What could have happened to make Emrys hate her brother when everyone else in her family seemed to love him? Who is Bomber Jacket? Is she really going to hack Holt's computer?

Okay okay,
So you need definitely one more chapter. And I'm not just saying this as a lover of the book and needing a more definite end (part of it) but literary speaking a more defined end would be great. Like her actually getting in that plane. I mean, I can survive I'd the couple doesn't make it (that's life Boohoo ending bit some books end sadly and yeah I wouldn't exactly want to be part of that werewolf nonsense either) but I need to know she left. Because it almost feels like there is a last ditch chance you purposefully left.
This is one of the stories that I really feel should be fleshed out. You had hints of some really great characters - step mom, tyrant leader, but we really only got to know the main character! And even with her I have tons of questions. Why exactly did she hate her brother? I mean I get he teased her and he was a golden boy who was actually a bad apple but it didn't seem personal enough for me. I want to know moooooore. I love the fact that werewolves weren't this hubky bunch of perfectly insync family. The whole compelled to listen to alpha even when bat shit crazy is a neat ulterior theme I'd love to see expanded.
And what happened to the great king wolf relic eh? The hunters? SO MANY QUESTIONS
Damn at least say you've got a sequel planned
So long review. I liked the story. It was annoyingly engrossing given its brevity and all my remaining questions. You are a very talented writer and the story was smooth and no glaring plot holes (although the climax was ... Anticlimactic) and your gramma/spelling in par. I felt like there was a perfect amount of description without being overbearing. Despite just landing in a clearly different (but not) universe I was never confused. That's good and hard to do with magic involved.
I also did enjoy the romance. Although maybe should be rated m. Mostly because it felt adultish to me. It was mutual sex with mutual passion but not over the top magic-y love so that was nice.

Great to see a new chapter!
But I think the end was a tad abrupt. I'd like to read a sequel about these two characters because you haven't convinced me why a relationship of those two can never work out, despite the characters saying so.

Such a good chapter. After a long awaited time for the next chapter it was well worth it and i enjoyed reading every moment of it.
I do hope that Emrys and Tanner get together again, I'm going to be so upset if they don't get together in the end, it'll be so sad
