The problem I think with building up lengthy stories of romance is the need to balance between excitement and progress. There has to be an appropriate amount of progress, but there also has to be an appropriate amount of tension. It's pretty good, from what I've read, but 'we don't write love stories' was more enjoyable to me. :)
