Looks good, didn't notice any grammar/punctuation issues. Dialog and descriptors worked well.

You're set a well constructed stage for ... something? ... to interfere in Matt's perfect world.

Being sci fi what could it be? ... alien invasion? time travel? alternate universe? vampires/werewolves? (God I hope not!) medical research gone wrong? ... oh, the possibilities are endless and you provided no hints...
