Woo, hot smut! Thanks for that. But do they have to be seperated AGAIN? D: They never get a break, do they?
I really liked this chapter. I'm starting to like King Daunus more and more. He seems like a very reasonable boy, just maybe a little ignorant at times. This war is going to be really exciting! Looks like Kore is finally getting a bit less shy too. She's a really interesting character and has lots of potential for evolvement.
Thanks for this great story. I'm really looking forward to the next chapter! I just hope Calentine and Alim don't kill each other while they're on a small boat together xD

This parting is much sadder than the one that you wrote originally! My poor heartstrings... (It's a good thing though).
So, is Kore staying with the King? Or is she going with them? I couldn't quite figure that out.

I've been reading this series for the last two days straight. For the first time in a long time, I was truly intrigued and ended up glued to my laptop. I love your characters, and I love the depth that both they and the story have. It's easy to immerse myself in the world you've created, and I find myself anxious to read more. I was tempted to go read the old version, but for consistency sake I will be patient :)
I really look forward to reading the rest of this story.

I love, love, love this story! When I returned to fictionpress, looking for a good fantasy story, I swear I did not expect my first reading choice to be this freaking wonderful! I'll be keeping an eye on this sequel.

Tremendously enjoyed this story, as well as the first part of the series. I read both stories in the last few days and got hooked.
I love the universe you created. So much world building! I love a good fantasy with tons of world building thrown in. And if there's slash in it as well, then I'm more than happy!
The plot is so fascinating I don't mind the slow building of the relationship at all. Calentine is a very interesting narrator and the way he doesn't let himself get overly bothered by all the things he's had to face and the way his feelings keep making him utterly confused make him a very likeable character.
The side characters are very well developed as well. There are no shallow figures that just stand at the sidelines to help the protagonists along. All of them are unique, which is very hard to achieve.
I really can't wait to see how this all turns out. You've got me hooked!

Haha Oh boy, Alim and the others have bad timing. Lol
The heart-to-heart between Cale and Paraz was sweet. :)
One thing I wonder is how Cale knows about eels hiding in caves? Do the fisher folk dive as well as fish?

This certainly is a completely different story this go round. It reads more like a book now, and makes much more sense to boot. The addition of Kore and the changes made throughout the story regarding the plot, the pirates, and the relationship between Cale and the genral give the whole story a lot more weight. I was only sad that we lost the scene where the general finds Cale tied to the tree in the rain. That was a great scene. I hope this re-write means that you won't kill the general's horse this time. It's never a good idea to kill horses, dogs, or children in stories unless absolutely necessary, LOL. Anyway, this seems more like an alternate version, rather than a simple rewrite, so I hope you keep the original posted because that version had merit of its own.

I'm on my phone, so I'm not logged in, but I just wanted to say that I've been enjoying this new version of tcc! I haven't checked out the author's notes yet (:/) but I mean to when I get the chance! 3

I like how it was Kore and not Cale this time who spoke up for Alim to prevent anything bad from happening to the healer.
This version of meeting the pirates definitely seemed more believable and less random circumstances and whatnot happening to lead Cale and the others to meeting with the pirate king. Unless I am misremembering the first version.
The moment when Paraz and Cale were standing together on the ocean holding hands was sweet.
Hmm what else did I like about this chapter? Perhaps everything until Helene got hit. But I enjoyed Cale's mental commentary about his cousin/almost sister grinning when angry and scowling while not. Helene will forever remain a bamf in my head. Haha

I like how Kore's presence allows for the suggestion of pirates as a supplemental army to be suggested without seeming outlandish. I can't even recall from the previous version if Cale thought if it or his cousin. Oh well.
Looking forward to the next chapter.

I don't know if Grei is more sinister this time around... But I sure don't like him.
Ferax being overprotective of his sister is sweet.
Cale and Paraz's reunion made me smile because you can definitely feel their concern for one another. Adorable.
Looking forward to tomorrow's update. :)
