Ferax being overprotective of his sister is sweet.
Cale and Paraz's reunion made me smile because you can definitely feel their concern for one another. Adorable.

I'm probably going to comment on the blog as well, but I must say here that I am truly enjoying this new version.
Even though it seems a bit odd to be reading something that in my mind has somewhat already happened?
I like the character of Kore alot, and I look forward to seeing what the General and Calentine are going to do to get out of this mess!

Easier to read doesn't necessarily mean better. But i guess i understand why you had to dumb it down for so many readers who can barely read a straight sentence.

ALIM! PARAZ! Yes, I am in love with this chapter
Kore seems like a great character so far, with a solid head on her shoulders. I'm anxious to see how she'll affect the story (if you do have plans for her, that is).
I quite like the new version so far; it's definitely clearer in terms of explaining the relationship between Grei and Asotegi. And, of course, it helps that Ja Alim was explaining it with his sharp tongue

definitely liking this version more, especially as we're introduced to pirates much more quickly. kore is an interesting one, and right now i'm thinking that she's going to provide calentine's way in for the pirates?
as usual, the dynamic between the dzalin-as-a-racist-whole and the dzalin-as-individually-quite-nice-actually is fun and frustrating.

It is clear that I won't be catching up on my reviews any time soon, but if you're rewriting this, I'm going to try my best to leave a review behind for each chapter from now on. It's the least I could do!
I am liking the new chapter! Gives the beginning more depth, and I like the extra scenes, particularly the one where Calentine does a bit of reflection and has a talk with his aunt. :) Kore makes for a fun new character...I'm also going take a chance on this gut feeling I have and say she's from the Pirates Islands. Ohhh, that'll make this a lot more interesting!
I thought your old Corsair's Crown was turning out rather nicely, but if you're planning to make it even better, well, I am EXTREMELY excited to see where you're going to take this story! So stress and take your time! You spend a lot of time so you can write us some spectacularly good stuff,actually update quite frequently AND do so in wonderfully enormous chunks. So, I'm not gonna hold it against you when you want some extra time to polish or yank the story around a bit. XD I certainly wouldn't be able to do this!

Yeesh what horrid luck. This rewritten version is less rushed than the first one, and I like getting to see Cale's village.. And this mysterious girl and the mentions if the pirate king are great.

This first chapter is certainly easier to read than the original. I do hope that you keep some of the things from the original... I love he's so worried about Asotegi, and I love the interaction between him and Asotegi's son and the princess!
(Also my phone thinks the closest thing to "Asotegi" is "stegosaurus.")
