I start reading this really good story than I realized that it hasn't been updated in 3 years.

NOOOOO! PLEASE don't give up on this story! I swear, it's the best thing I've read in months and there's only 2 chapters! I know you haven't updated in close to a year, but for my and the other fans of this story's sake, doNOT give up on it. The storyline is so interesting and I fangirled throughout most of the second chapter. I see what you're capable of as a writer, and this story is already one of my favorites, despite the hiatus. I beg; please sit down one day and update. I BEG!

I like this story so far, it's original and generally well done. When you started describing the passage of time and then the scenes in the 'present', I think the story became more realistic and effective (Damien's adoption and the fact that his parents kept him in the dark about his age, muteness required suspension of disbelief for me personally). Anyway, I like how you're slowly developing David and Damien's relationship over time - good pacing and tension between the characters keeps it interesting, and the scene where Damien says 'thank you' was pretty touching. I'm glad David has matured and gotten more likeable too. Looking forward to reading more of this!

Hm... interesting! It's unusual for a story to jump through time so quickly so I had to adjust to that a bit, but this is really good so far. I'm glad the pace has slowed down and am excited to see more emotions and personal thoughts the characters have when you switch to first person POV. :)
David really seemed like a jerk. xD But I know that's part of your process with this story. At least he's softened up and has been noticing things about Damien that not even his parents did.
I also LOVE DAMIEN. I just adore when a character is mute- it adds so many openings for so many unique scenes/ideas. Like how does he communicate with other people since he's mute? Through writing, expressions, a combination? Sign language? I'm eager to find out!
I think you got the adoption process mostly, relatively right. Basically. the only thing you left out was a social worker. When it comes to children- teenagers, especially- that are removed from their homes, there's always a social worker involved that will remain as the child's 'guardian', pretty much, throughout the foster care and adoption process. They remain even after the child is adopted- checking up every so often and making sure the home situation is acceptable and to make sure that the child is comfortable and taken care of. I went through a few foster homes when I was 13-15 and that's how it was. My case worker would show up at the foster home I was in and would take me aside for an hour or two to gauge how I'm adapting to the home. Even when I went back to live with my mother, she still came by to check in on me. In fact, most case workers become attached to the kids they care for. I still talk to Jenna every now and then on the phone.
Oh- also. If Damien's father was in jail, and his mother died, custody of him would be turned over completely to the state, it wouldn't be up to Damien's father to give over custody of his son. So David's parents would have to talk to Social Services about the adoption, and there would be a lot of rigorous interviews, background checks, and their home would be analyzed before the state would even consider allowing a non-family member to adopt Damien.
But yeah, those are the main things I saw that might have helped- but like you said, I just wanted to let you know for future reference! :)
Can't wait to read more!

Ooh, please continue very soon or whenever you can. This is a very interesting story so far and I would like to read more, but I wonder... will David be bottom? Hmm never mind don't tell me! I would like to READ and find out. ;)

Man, David is such a little shit. Or was. He seems to be growing out of it. Great first chapter, keep it up!

It sounds like you have an interesting story in the works for us! I'm not sure how well I'll like David as a character, but I can tell you I already like Damien. I'm looking forward to the next installment, even if it does take a while to prepare everything.
