I'm more interested in the depth and quality of the knowledge the homeschooled pupil acquires:
How much variety exists in the homeschooled library? How many opinions is the child exposed to? How many teachers did she have? Are the texts up to date?

My reservation regarding home schooling is that no teacher can teach you what she don't know. In outside school, by the time you leave elementary school, you probably will have had six or seven teachers. In middle school and high school, you will have one teacher per subject, or six or seven per day. Each teacher will bring a different array of knowledge to class. You end up knowing the sum of your teachers' knowledge instead of knowing only what one teacher knows, or what one book says.
The obvious way around this problem is to become an autodidact. Obviously, even if you don't have access to a library, you do have access to the web, so you can find it easy to learn different, possibly more complete, aspects of the subjects your teachers cover. Good luck.
